Calculation to find out (TOW CAPACITY) when towing behind
VH-55 or VH-55 RO***
(This is a two part calculation)

Take the tongue capacity of your hitch* (_____lbs), and subtract –
the weight of your motorcycle** -(_____lbs)
= (_____lbs), then subtract -
weight of motorcycle carrier –( lbs VH-55=65lbs or VH-55 RO=80lbs*** )
= tongue weight left (_____lbs), then divide it by
tongue capacity of your hitch* (_____lbs)
=(__.___this will be a decimal) percent of tongue weight left.
(Ending # from First Part will be used in Second Part calculation)
Second Part:
Take the tow capacity of your hitch* (_____lbs), and multiply it by
percent of tongue weight left(Ending # of first calculation __.___)
= (_____), then divide this number by
( 3 ) (1/3 of hitch capacity)
=(______lbs) (Total tow capacity with VH-55 or VH-55 RO and motorcycle)
* You can find hitch tow &tongue weight on your receiver or call dealer.

*** VH-55 single motorcycle carrier, VH-55 RO single motorcycle carrier w/ramp
Example: tongue weight=500lbs, tow capacity=5000lbs,
motorcycle weight=200lbs, VH-55 RO=80lbs.
First Part:
Take the tongue capacity of your hitch*,( 500 lbs) and subtract –
the weight of your motorcycle**, -( 200 lbs)
= ( 300 lbs) then subtract -
weight of motorcycle carrier –( 80 lbs) (VH-55=65lbs or VH-55 RO=80lbs)
(VH-55 SINGLE MOTORCYCLE CARRIER & VH-55 RO SINGLE MOTORCYCLE CARRIER W/RAMP)
=( 220 lbs) tongue weight left, then divide it by
tongue capacity of your hitch*( 500 lbs)
=( .44 this will be a decimal) percent of tongue weight left.
(Ending # from First Part will be used in Second Part calculation)
Second Part:
Take the tow capacity of your hitch*( 5000 lbs) and multiply it by
percent of tongue weight left(Ending # of first calculation .44 )
= ( 2200 lbs) divide this number by
( 3 ) (1/3 of hitch capacity)
=( 733.33lbs) (Total tow capacity with VH-55 RO and motorcycle)
